Bel Air Police Investigate Jewelry Theft, Home Invasion: Reports

An older couple was reportedly targeted, robbed at gunpoint.

The Bel Air Police Department is reportedly investigating an armed robbery that occurred last week in a Homestead Village residence.

The robbers walked in through an unlocked door at the home in the 400 block of Linwood Avenue last Thursday morning and held the inhabitants at gunpoint, Sgt. Jim Lockard told ABC 2 News.

The suspects, described as a black man approximately 6’ and 230 pounds and a white woman approximately 5’2” and 140 pounds, then stole watches, rings, silverware, necklaces and $900 in cash.

Police are saying the robbery was not random.

“Apparently, they were targeted,” Lockard said in an interview with The Aegis, which reports there have been similar cases in the region.

The suspects in the Sept. 10 robbery in Bel Air made off with approximately $40,000 to $50,000, according to the newspaper.
