Bel Air Taps Consulting Firm To Study Police Station

The Bel Air commissioners reportedly approved funds to study plans for a new station.

BEL AIR, MD — The town of Bel Air has decided to spend more than $43,000 toward studying options for a new police station, according to The Aegis.

The police department is attached to the Bel Air Town Hall on Hickory Avenue and was built about 50 years ago. Officials say the physical space presents challenges for staffing, storing evidence and keeping detainees.

Crabtree, Rohrbaugh & Associates was awarded the $43,290 contract for a feasability study for the new station. The consulting firm is based in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, and will evaluate the possibilities and costs for the future of the police station.
