Bel Air Townhouse Blaze Traced To Electrical Outlet: Fire Marshal
A townhouse fire caused $30,000 in damage Friday in Bel Air, according to the fire marshal.

BEL AIR, MD — An electrical failure sparked a fire Friday at a townhouse in Bel Air, according to officials. Investigators said the blaze originated in an interior wall.
A passerby reported the fire at 1:27 a.m. Friday, according to the fire marshal. About 15 firefighters responded to the 900 block of Chesney Lane and brought the blaze under control within 10 minutes, the fire marshal said.
Crews were met with smoke inside, according to the Abingdon Fire Company, which assisted the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company in responding to the incident.

Firefighters located the fire "within and around an electrical outlet," Sr. Deputy State Fire Marshal Oliver Alkire told Bel Air Patch.
Investigators estimated there was $30,000 in structural damage.

Alkire said nobody was home at the time of fire, and there were no injuries.
