UPDATED: Winter Weather Advisory for Bel Air

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for snow in several areas, including Bel Air.

A winter weather advisory means that snow may cause travel difficulties due to snow-covered roads and limited visibilities.

The advisory is effective from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, March 20, in Harford, Baltimore, Carroll, Frederick, Howard and Montgomery counties.

Approximately 1 to 3 inches of snow are projected, according to the National Weather Service.

Precipitation will begin as rain and turn to snow before tapering off by midday Friday, the weather service reports.
