Firefighters from Bel Air and Darlington were called to the fire Wednesday at a research company in Harford County.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — The fire at a business on Scarboro Road Wednesday morning has been ruled accidental. The blaze originated in the ceiling, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

An employee notified authorities of the fire at 9:47 a.m. Wednesday at HP White Laboratory, the fire marshal reported.

HP White is a ballistics research and development company in the 3100 block of Scarboro Road.

The blaze in the 50-by-100-foot concrete structure started in the ceiling and was contained in five minutes, according to the fire marshal.

Crews from Bel Air and Darlington responded, according to Rich Gardiner of the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company. Two engines from Bel Air as well as its tower truck helped attack the blaze and ventilate the building, Gardiner said.
