Bel Air Walmart Proposal Turns a Corner
Transportation officials give Walmart developers green light for MD 924.

The State Highway Administration has reportedly granted Walmart limited access to MD Route 924 for its proposed store off Route 924 at Plumtree Road.

Bob Cassilly and Delegate Susan McComas recommending Route 924 for southbound travelers to turn right into the location and turn right out, The Aegis reported.

Over the past several years, Bel Air residents have organized well-attended rallies to express their opposition, citing traffic as a chief concern.
The Harford County Council passed a resolution denying Walmart access to Route 924, and Councilman Jim McMahan said he has “fired off a letter in opposition” to the State Highway Administration regarding its recent decision, which he said came after a Sept. 17 meeting between transportation officials and Walmart, according to a statement published by The Dagger.
