BEL AIR, MD — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from Laura Hull who wrote this nomination for Oliver, a sixth grader from Bel Air.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Oliver works so hard in school and is a honor roll student - he takes pride in being organized and ready for anything that comes his way. He strives to be a caring and supportive friend, and plays hard on the football field. He recently became a big brother and has poured himself into that roll. We are proud of everything he does and continues to accomplish!

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

Oliver loves to help others and goes out of his way to be of service. From opening doors for strangers, to running to help someone with their bags, to buying a bottle of water for a friend who forgot theirs. He is devoted to he kind always.

Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Oliver!
