Bel Air's White House Fence Jumper Reportedly Has Mental Problems

Dominic Adesanya was charged in recent months for another incident near the White House, his father told ABC 2 News.

The Bel Air man who jumped the White House fence Wednesday night reportedly had a history of mental problems.

Dominic Adesanya, 23, scaled the fence at approximately 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday and got 20 yards before he was stopped by Secret Service agents and K-9 officers, according to NBC Washington.

Adesanya, who graduated from Fallston High School in 2008 and attended Stevenson University in recent years, has been experiencing paranoia and is “mentally disturbed,” his father told ABC 2 News.

The father, who asked not to be identified, said “nobody wanted to help” treat his son, who was charged with a misdemeanor two months ago for “fussing” at people near the gate to the White House, where he wanted to tell the President about his situation, the station reported.

In connection with Wednesday night’s incident, Adesanya was charged with four counts of resisting arrest, two counts of felony assault on a police officer for attacking the K-9s, unlawful entry and making threats, according to CNN.

Adesanya was hospitalized for dog bites and has since been released, NBC Washington reports. He was in the custody of U.S. Marshals Thursday morning, according to WNEW.

The two dogs involved, Hurricane and Jordan, have been cleared for duty by a veterinarian, according to The Washington Post. In video of the incident, Adesanya can be seen punching the dogs as the animals tried to subdue him.
