Bernard 'Bernie' Callahan, 69, Of Bel Air

Bernard "Bernie" Callahan, 69, of Bel Air, passed away on March 14, 2017, at his home. Born in Easton, he was the son of Raymond A. Callahan Sr. and Dorothy M. (Schofield) Callahan. He received his master's degree from Loyola University in Administration and Supervision and worked 29 years in Harford County as a teacher. He was the president and primary construction worker of Linwood Construction Company. He also coached wrestling and played golf, poker, pitch and softball.

Mr. Callahan is survived by his wife, Janet Abell Callahan; two sons, Steven (Bridget) Callahan and Christopher (Kerry) Callahan; grandchildren, Shanna, Jack, Meghan, Owen, Kaitlyn, Kiera and Devin; siblings, Donald (Diane) Callahan, Michael (Kathleen) Callahan, Henrietta Callahan and Richard Spence, Dennis (Glenda) Callahan, Dorothy Callahan and Michael Shortall, and Joseph Callahan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Callahan Jr.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to C. Milton Wright High School, 1301 N. Fountain Green Road, Bel Air, MD 21015, and designate in the memo section if the donation goes to Callahan/Math Department or Callahan/Wrestling Team.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, at Callahan Center @ St. Mary Magdalen, 1716 E. Churchville Road, Bel Air, MD 21015.
