BEL AIR, MD — A fall tradition for many families is a visit to a local pumpkin patch. While the coronavirus pandemic has caused some of the region's pumpkin patches to modify how they operate, quite a few will be open this fall. We have hours, attractions and activities as the pumpkin-picking season ramps up.

Below is a list of some of our favorite pumpkin patches and fall festivities near Bel Air:

Harman's Farm, 2633 Churchville Rd., Churchville

  • Wagon rides to the pumpkin patch start the first weekend in October. Masks required.
  • Attractions: Pumpkins of varying shapes, sizes and colors, including white ones for painting. There's also a produce market with fresh fruits and veggies.

  • Attractions: The drive-thru experience features creatures stirring in the fog.

  • Season opening/closing dates: Sept. 18 to Nov. 7
  • Attractions: Corn maze with time travel theme, hayrides, carnival games
