Best Holiday Lights in Greater Bel Air 2014

Where to find the most awe-inspiring homes decorated for the holidays in Bel Air.

Bel Air offers tons of twinkle and sparkle, so Patch asked readers to tell us where they’ve spotted some of the best—and you didn’t disappoint.

Check out our list of some of the best displays below and on the map:

  • Abingdon—Laurel View Drive: “Abingdon Lights” runs from 5:30–10 p.m. nightly until New Year’s Eve. Tune your radio to 93.5 FM to hear the music synchronized to the light show.
  • Abingdon—2977 Harrogate Way: The Vogt House in Box Hill gets decked out with thousands of lights each year for a good cause. The family collects donations at a donation box in front of the home so their neighbor, Ryan, who has autism, can attend a summer camp for special needs children, according to The Patterson Press.
  • Bel Air—1200 East Churchville Road: St. Matthew Lutheran Church features a display with 40,000 lights set to music. The entrance is on Churchville Road at Brierhill Drive, across from Walgreens. It’s open from 6–10 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 6–11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Nonperishable food items or donations to the church’s food pantry are welcome.
  • Bel Air—1722 Edwin Drive: Brad Paulsen’s light show runs from 5 to 10 p.m. daily until Jan. 1. To ring in the new year, there will be a special encore show from midnight to 12:15 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 1. To hear the music synced up with the lights, tune into 92.7 FM.
  • Bel Air—1205 Corinthian Court: Jim Kurtz and his neighbor have a 20-minute light show in store for visitors, synchronized to a variety of tunes, from Let It Go to the Nutcracker dubstep remix.
  • Bel Air—1230 Grafton Shop Road.
  • Jarrettsville—3821 Federal Hill Road. The North Harford Community Christmas Tree at Fellowship Chapel reportedly has more than 10,000 lights on one tree.
  • Joppa—3000 block of Franklinville Road. One reader says this is a MUST see: “Can not miss it. Must be a million lights on display.”
  • Pylesville—2111 Telegraph Road. A Newtown Noel is a light show synchronized to music. It runs from 6–9:30 p.m. Sunday to Thursday; and 6–11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
