HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A bicyclist was hit by a pickup Sunday night on the Thomas J. Hatem Memorial Bridge (US 40) in Harford County. The driver fled the scene and police are actively searching for the suspected vehicle.

At 5:57 p.m. on Feb. 4, Maryland Transportation Authority police officers were called to the westbound lanes of the Hatem Bridge for a report of a crash. Officers found a man with non-life-threatening-injuries. The bicyclist was taken to a local hospital for treatment, the MTA said.

Preliminary information from the police department indicates that the bicyclist was in the right lane when he was hit by an older model, dark-colored Ford pickup truck. Investigators believe the involved truck may be missing its passenger-side rearview mirror as a result of the crash.
