Bicyclist Rescued From Gunpowder Falls State Park: Officials

Crews from Fallston and Bel Air as well as the Harford County Technical Rescue Team were among those who helped rescue a bicyclist.

Officials said a bicyclist was hospitalized Sunday after a fall in Gunpowder Falls State Park. Technical rescuers were required to get to the victim, who had suffered a leg injury about a 1 mile from the road along a trail near the Gunpowder River.

Crews from Harford County were called shortly after noon to the area of Guyton Road at Bottom Road, according to the Fallston Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Company. Someone had dialed 911 to report a person was injured along the trail.

Using a wheel stokes basket, emergency personnel were able to get the victim from the trail and to a local hospital for treatment of injuries that officials said were not believed to be life-threatening.
