Blaze Burns Kitchen Stove In Forest Hill Townhouse Fire

Firefighters from two companies arrived Monday just before noon at a Forest Hill townhouse to find a fire involving a stove.

Just before noon Monday, firefighters with the Fallston Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Company were called to a townhouse fire at a home located in the 2100 block of Mardic Drive as a second truck. The Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company was on the scene.

FOREST HILL, MD — Kitchen fires are an all too common occurrence, with unattended cooking as the biggest contributor, especially involving hot oils and grease that ignite. Other fires can be caused by towels or oven mitts - flammable items - getting to close to a heat source, electrical issues, grease buildup and faulty appliances.

Just before noon Monday, firefighters with the Fallston Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Company were called to a townhouse fire at a home located in the 2100 block of Mardic Drive as a second truck. The Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company was on the scene working a kitchen fire.

Firefighters extinguished the fire, conducted a search and rescue, ventilated the home and secured utilities, according to fire officials.
