Darlington Cabin Destroyed By Blaze, Firefighter Ends Up In Hospital: MD Fire Marshal
A fire destroyed a cabin along the Susquehanna River and led to the hospitalization of a firefighter, the state fire marshal reports.

DARLINGTON, MD — A cabin burned to the ground after catching on fire Saturday night and a firefighter was hospitalized after battling the blaze.
The fire broke out around 9:45 p.m. at a 16 x 32-foot cabin located at 2017 Jennings Lane. The cabin is one of approximately 350 cabins sitting along the banks of the Susquehanna River. While the cabins are individually owned, the land they are on is leased from Constellation Energy, according to the state fire marshal's office.
The owner, Bryan Ullman, was at the cabin earlier in the day, but was not on the property when the fire broke out. The cabin can only be accessed via the dock or steep steps from the road. Fifty firefighters from the Darlington Volunteer Fire Company took almost two hours to gain control of the fire. One of those firefighters experienced smoke inhalation and exhaustion. He was taken to Bayview Medical Center for evaluation where he was admitted and listed in stable condition, the state fire marshal's office reported.
