Board of Education, County Council Cancel Tuesday Meetings

Bel Air's town meeting is still being held at 7:30 p.m.

UPDATED (12:37 p.m.)—The County Council and Board of Education have both canceled their meetings Tuesday night, Council President Billy Boniface said.

Because the council would have been using a school facility—Patterson Mill High School—Boniface said it is in the best interest of citizen safety to cancel its session, too.

The Board of Education was Tuesday.

"We'll just take it meeting by meeting," said Boniface, who also canceled last week's meeting due to poor weather conditions.

The Board of Education will now vote on the fiscal year 2012 budget Jan. 24 in a session that begins at at 6:30 p.m. The next County Council meeting will be held Feb. 1 at 6:30 p.m. Both sessions will take place at the Board of Education building at 102 South Hickory Ave. The council agenda will combine that night's work with what was on schedule for Tuesday as well as Jan. 11.
