Boat Catches On Fire On The Water, Several Maryland Departments Respond To Call For Help
Howard County and Harford County firefighters helped battle a boat fire shortly after they wrapped up subbing for Baltimore firefighters.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Volunteer firefighters from Harford County recently joined other fire and EMS personnel from across the state of Maryland and Washington, D.C., to support the Baltimore City Fire Department so their members could honor fallen brother, EMT/Firefighter Rodney W. Pitts, III.
When the Baltimore City Fire Department fireboat crew returned from the funeral, they paused to thank the crews from Harford County, Bowleys Quarters Volunteer Fire Rescue & Marine, and the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services for keeping the water way safe while they were honoring Pitts.
But within seconds, a distress call was cast out across the VHF radio for a boat on fire near the Key Bridge. All crews responded to the fire and worked together to battle the blaze. There were no injuries reported.
