Boaters Rescued From Gunpowder River
Two people boating along Gunpowder River ended up stranded on an island and were assisted by a water rescue team.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Two people found themselves stranded on an island after their jon boat broke down on the Gunpowder River Sunday night, authorities say.
The Middle River Volunteer Fire and Rescue water rescue units, along with the Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company, met at Mariner State Park around 9 p.m., according to their social media post.
Mariner Point Park is managed by Harford County Parks and Recreation and offers parking, boat ramps and bathroom facilities. The park can be found at 100 Kerney Dr. in Joppa.
