The sports bar and restaurant will be one of five opening in the greater Baltimore area.

A new restaurant is planning to open in Bel Air as a franchise re-launches itself in North America.

Boston’s Restaurant and Sports Bar offers fare like pizza, pasta, burgers, salads, sandwiches, wings, desserts and other dishes. It has more than 30 locations in the U.S. and Mexico and plans to double that number by 2018, according to Business Wire.

Recently, Boston’s signed a franchise agreement to open five locations in Baltimore and Harford counties as well as Baltimore City—Bel Air and White Marsh restaurants will be the first to open, according to the Baltimore Business Journal.

A spokesperson for Boston’s told Patch that the Bel Air location is expected to open in 2015, and officials are still in negotiations about the location. The White Marsh restaurant will open in 2016, according to Boston’s.

Each restaurant will offer Boston’s signature casual, contemporary atmosphere where families can dine, as well as a separate sports bar that pays tribute to local teams.

Dr. Keith Asante will oversee the five restaurants in greater Baltimore, according to Business Wire, with two additional partners handling daily operations. Asante owns a Baltimore IT company and is an adjunct professor at University of Maryland University College in information systems.

“Now is the right time for Boston’s to resume our franchise efforts,” Boston’s Chief Operating Officer Troy Cooper said. “...our current restaurants [are] performing well” and the executive team has an energy and support system in place to foster franchise ownership, Cooper said of factors driving the expansion. The expansion begins in the Baltimore area and will continue through 2018.
