Brentwood Manor Blaze Causes $1.2M in Damage: Fire Marshal

Authorities said 11 families were displaced by Tuesday evening fire at condo complex.

BEL AIR, MD – Residents have been displaced after a fire at the Brentwood Manor condominiums Tuesday caused more than $1 million in damage, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

One woman was rescued and taken to Upper Chesapeake for evaluation of injuries that were unrelated to the fire and not believed to be life-threatening, the fire marshal reported.

Deputies from the Harford County Sheriff's Office were first at the scene, arriving in the 1000 block of East Jessica's Court at approximately 7:02 p.m. and helping the woman who needed medical evaluation to get out of the burning building, officials said.

Within an hour, nearly 60 firefighters brought the blaze under control at the three-story, 12-unit condo complex, according to the fire marshal.

There was an estimated $1.2 million in damage to the building and its contents, the fire marshal reported.

Officials said that 11 families were displaced and were receiving assistance from the Red Cross.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are investigating the cause and origin of the blaze.
