Burglaries In Bel Air Prompt Warning From Harford Sheriff

BEL AIR, MD — After responding to multiple reports of burglaries in the Village of Thomas Run, authorities said that at least two were preventable. The Harford County Sheriff's Office shared a simple tip that could drastically reduce the chance of becoming a victim.

There were multiple burglaries in the Village of Thomas Run in the past week, the Harford County Sheriff's Office reported Dec. 6.

In two cases, officials said a stranger got into a home overnight through a door that was unlocked.

Once inside, the burglar stole valuables, then left, according to authorities.

"While there are no 100 percent guarantees to keep your home from being a target, simply locking your doors and windows will greatly diminish the chances of you becoming a victim!" the Harford County Sheriff's Office said in a statement. "And as always, if you see something suspicious, call 911!"
