Forest Hill House Fire Caused $200K in Damage: Fire Marshal

Residential blaze on Bynum Road remains under investigation.

Officials say the cause of a house fire near Forest Hill is under investigation.

At 1:18 a.m. on Monday, a passerby reported the fire in the 300 block of Bynum Road, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

Firefighters found the back of the home engulfed in flames, according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.

The fire began in a back bedroom/storage room inside the home, which was unoccupied at the time, the fire marshal reported.

Crews from Jarrettsville and Fallston assisted the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company in putting out the blaze, which was contained within 30 minutes, according to Gardiner. He said firefighters cleared the scene at 4:30 a.m.

Authorities said nobody was injured in the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
