Join Harford County Public Library for a free swingin’ celebration of the Library’s 80th Anniversary on April 22 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Fiore Winery &amp; Distillery, 3026 Whiteford Road in Pylesville. The Daniel Bennett Group will perform an upbeat selection of 1940s-era music, bringing the timeless sounds of jazz and the Great American Songbook to life. The group was recently voted “Best New Jazz” by NYC’s Hot House Magazine. Be the first to hear music from their newly released album, “The Deconstructed Songbook.” Available at the concert will be Fiore’s specially crafted creations made just for the Library’s 80th Anniversary: a bold red wine, “Read Between the Wines,” and a smooth vodka, “Chapter 80.” Guests are welcome to bring snacks for the concert. Join us at the Stars of Harford Gala on Friday, April 24 at 7 PM in Harford Community College’s Chesapeake Welcome Center, where we will be celebrating the Harford Dance Theatre’s and Phoenix Festival Theater’s past, present, and future productions. This will be a dress-your-best gala event with music, dancing, cash bar, selfie station, hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and more.

The classic tragedy of Shakespeare's star-crossed lovers gets a new life in this punk rock-inspired production. Come witness all the romance of 16th century Shakespeare with all the raw intensity of 20th century rock.

Bring your family and friends to the Purcellville Music and Arts Festival on Saturday, April 25 from noon to 7 p.m. rain or shine. This free, family-friendly event will be held at Fireman’s Field Park and inside the Bush Tabernacle Skating Rink at 250 South Nursery Avenue.

Enjoy a full day of live music and performances across multiple stages, along with an art exhibit, games, chalk art, and a variety of interactive activities. Browse offerings from local vendors featuring handcrafted goods, food, beverages, and more. There will be fun for all ages, including face painting, glitter tattoos, sidewalk chalk art, and t-shirt or tote bag decorating. Local non-profits will also be on-site sharing information and resources. Special activities will highlight and celebrate the 250th anniversary of America’s independence. 
Inside the Bush Tabernacle Skating Rink—transformed into the Art Hall—you’ll find more than 30 works of art, live performances, art demonstrations, and hands-on activities including quilt square decorating and an Instrument Petting Zoo. Be sure to pick up a festival scavenger hunt booklet and complete it for a chance to win a prize!
