Hosted by the HarfordTV Foundation, the third annual Facing Addiction in Harford County forum will feature a panel of trusted experts and community leaders addressing cannabis laws and policy, health effects, and the connection between marijuana use and substance use disorders, particularly among youth and families. The event features keynote speaker Sherif Osman, MD from UM Upper Chesapeake Health and panelists:
- Lauren Levy, JD, MPH, Harford County Health Officer
- George Townsend, Staff Attorney, Legal Resource Center for Public Health Policy – Cannabis
- Justin Kanter, MS, Founder of Cannabis for Cancer
- Jennifer Redding, LCSW-C, Clinical Director, Veni, Vidi, Vici Wellness Center and Founder/CEO of Harford Counseling
- A.L. Reeves, Founder & Director, Boys 2 MEN Mentoring at Joppatowne High School
- Sandra M. Gallion, EMT & Prevention Coordinator, Harford County Office of Drug Control Policy
Attendees will receive two boxed doses of naloxone (Narcan), a life-saving medication that reverses opioid overdoses, courtesy of Voices of Hope.
