Set in New York’s East Village, Rent is about love, self-expression, and living for today. Winner of the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize, the musical has become a cultural phenomenon with rock-infused songs and a story that resonates across generations. Loosely based on Puccini’s La Bohème, Jonathan Larson’s work follows a year in the lives of struggling young artists facing love, loss, and the impact of HIV/AIDS. Their intertwined relationships, dreams, and conflicts form the heart of this groundbreaking musical.
Rent is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
