Harford Community College music faculty member and bassist Phil Ravita returns to Joppa Hall with his group, Ravita Jazz, fresh off their newest album, Alice Blue. Music journalist Raul da Gama calls Alice Blue "relevant and enduring," lauding the album's "beautifully crafted arrangements.”
Phil is joined by Chris Gekker, trumpet; Greg Small, piano; Nuc Vega, drums; Mark Leppo, percussion; and vocalist Deirdre Jennings, to present fusion jazz, funk, and blues such as Lee Morgan’s “Side Winder,” Sonny Rollins’ “St. Thomas,” and Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On.”
