Calvary Road Blaze Leaves $200K In Damage: Fire Marshal
The fire marshal has ruled the fire at a home on Route 136 accidental.
BEL AIR, MD — A garage fire at a home in Bel Air caused $200,000 damage Wednesday, the Office of the State Fire Marshal reported. The fire has been ruled accidental.
The resident of the home in the 2400 block of Calvary Road discovered the fire at 7:11 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, officials said.
About 40 firefighters brought the blaze under control in 15 minutes, the fire marshal reported. Crews from the Abingdon Fire Company and the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company were among those responding.

During the firefighting activity, Calvary Road was closed between MD 543 and Goat Hill Road, according to the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.
Investigators determined the fire began in the garage "due to hot surface ignition of ordinary combustibles." The estimated loss was $200,000, the fire marshal reported.
