Candle Sparks Bedroom Fire In Aberdeen Home, Injuring One
An unattended candle in an Aberdeen home's bedroom sparked a fire Thursday night, injuring 1 person. Two of the owner's 4 cats are missing.

ABERDEEN, MD — One person was injured in a house fire that broke out Thursday night in Aberdeen.
Firefighters were called to the one-story single family home located in the 200 block of Darlington Avenue around 10:11 p.m. The resident was home in the bathroom when a passerby saw through the window that a fire had sparked in the bedroom, according to the Maryland Office of the State Fire Marshal. That good Samaritan stopped at the home, knocked on the door and told the resident what she saw, which allowed the resident enough time to get two of her four cats out of the home. Two cats are missing and officials aren't sure if they survived the fire, the fire marshal's office reported.
Firefighters were able to keep the fire's damage to the bedroom, but extensive heat, water and soot damage did happen throughout the home. The fire has been ruled accidental and was caused by an unattended candle, the state fire marshal's office reported.
