Cedarwood Fire Caused Nearly $300K in Damage: Officials
Two people were displaced by Bel Air house fire, the Office of the State Fire Marshal said.

BEL AIR, MD – Investigators are trying to determine the cause of a house fire in Bel Air Monday night that displaced two people, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
At 9:08 p.m. on Monday, a neighbor noticed the blaze in the 1500 block of Cedarwood Drive and notified authorities, the fire marshal reported.

Approximately 30 firefighters from the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company responded, bringing the situation under control in half an hour, according to the fire marshal.
While the fire started inside the house, authorities said the cause was under investigation.

There was $240,000 worth of structural damage, and the fire caused $50,000 worth of items inside the home to be lost as well, officials said.
The man and woman living in the home were displaced and being assisted by family members, according to the fire marshal.
There was a smoke alarm in the home but it did not go off, the fire marshal reported.
