Vaccaro's Celebrates 60 Years with 60-Cent Cannolis
Pastry shop in Bel Air is one of four locations serving up sweet deals on Italian favorite this week.

Vaccaro's is celebrating 60 years of business with 60-cent cannolis this week.
The Italian bakery that began in downtown Baltimore is offering the deal at all four of its locations, including in Bel Air at the Harford Mall. It also has a presence in Little Italy, Canton and Hunt Valley.
A perennial favorite since Vaccaro's first opened its doors in March 1956, the cannoli is created from scratch, its pastry shell shaped by machines before it's filled with ricotta cheese and chocolate chips.

WBAL produced a video showing how the delicacy is made using special equipment at Vaccaro's warehouse in Highlandtown and got the closeup on how to stuff a cannoli too.
To share the sweet success of its 60-year anniversary, Vaccaro's is offering 60-cent cannolis from March 14 to 18 at all of its locations. Special cookie packages are also going for $5.60.

In addition, The Baltimore Sun reports there will be $2.60 deals (rum cake, gelato, cappuccino) on a special menu offered on its anniversary—March 16—at its store at 222 Ablemarle Street in Little Italy.
What's the secret to success?
"...change with the times, but don't change your products," owner Nick Vaccaro, son of founder Gioacchino Vaccaro, told Baltimore magazine. "Change is good but not when it comes to the recipes."
Vaccaro's is located at 696A Belair Road in Bel Air at the Harford Mall.
