Cell Phone Charger Sparks Quick-Moving Bedroom Fire
A young teen has been credited for preventing the spread of a bedroom fire sparked by a cell phone, according to the fire company.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A young teen has been credited for sparing his home from burning up after his quick actions prevented extensive damage.
Firefighters with the Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company were called to a home April 2 for a report of a bedroom fire after a phone charger caught fire. The flames quickly spread to the curtains, carpet and other items in the room, according to the fire company.
"A quick thinking 12-year-old, who turn(ed) 13 this Saturday, took immediate action. He removed the burning items from the home, stopping the fire from spreading further. He then alerted a neighbor, who brought over a fire extinguisher and helped put out the remaining fire. Because of their fast actions, what could have been a serious house fire was kept under control. Damage was limited and no one was injured," the fire company stated.
