Off The Chain Cycling Studio Opens In Bel Air
The newest business in the town of Bel Air includes a workout studio and smoothie bar.

BEL AIR, MD — Town officials celebrated the opening of Bel Air's newest business on Tuesday. Off the Chain, an indoor cycling studio, is now open at the Bel Air Town Center on Baltimore Pike.
The business at the Bel Air shopping center includes a fitness studio and smoothie bar.
Off the Chain opened Jan. 20, according to co-owner Tamara Joy. It features dozens of indoor bikes equipped with special technology. Group classes run throughout the day and are taught by a variety of instructors.

Off the Beet, which is the on-site smoothie bar, is also open for those looking for a healthy meal. It offers drinks and blended bowls made with ingredients such as fruits and vegetables, Greek yogurt, ginger, honey, green tea and chia seeds.
Taking a class is not required; anyone can walk in and visit Off the Beet.

"I am hearing from customers that our quality smoothies are much appreciated and desired in the area," Joy told Bel Air Patch. Check out the menu.
For those interested in taking a class, multiple sessions are scheduled each day.
The cycling studio features dozens of Schwinn AC Performance Plus bikes running the Spivi indoor cycling software program.
"...what separates us from other cycling studios is our innovative technology," Joy said.
Riders can track their calories, heart rate, distance, cadence and other data, which is emailed to them after their workouts. "It keeps you accountable!" Joy said.
Classes range from 15 to 40 participants, and people can sign up for one class, a month of classes or a certain number of rides.
The high-quality sound system, energizing musical selections and attitudes of the instructors have been noted as factors in the overall positive experience that Facebook reviewers have cited in their feedback about Off the Chain since it opened this week.
The studio also provides changing rooms and has space that can be rented out for private rides for athletic teams, fundraisers and groups.
"We are very excited to welcome them to Bel Air, and we wish them much success!" Angela Robertson of Bel Air Economic Development said in a statement after Tuesday's ribbon cutting.
Off the Chain is located at 538 Baltimore Pike, Bel Air. Hours are 5:15-8 p.m. from Monday to Friday and 7:15 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
