Change Of Command Ceremony Thursday At Aberdeen Proving Ground
After serving as the garrison commander for 2 years, Col. Casiano will relinquish command of the U.S. Army Garrison APG on Thursday.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Aberdeen Proving Ground Garrison will host a change of command ceremony in the Myer Auditorium Thursday at 10 a.m. Col. Johnny M. Casiano will relinquish command of the U.S. Army Garrison – APG to Col. Philip J. Mundweil.
After serving as the garrison commander for 24 months, Casiano will move on to become the commander of the 4th Security Force Assistance Brigade in Fort Carson, Colorado. Casiano led the garrison through successful transformation during a time of organizational rebuilding, including cost savings, hiring reform and community morale.
Mundweil comes to APG from his previous assignment as a student at the Senior Service College Fellowship in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. His previous assignments include company and battalion commands, and recruiting command.

He also served as the executive officer of 2nd Squadron, 14th Cavalry Regiment in 2nd Brigade, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks in Hawaii; and as commander, 2nd Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment – “Cacti,” in 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division also in Hawaii. He has been deployed several times in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
