CMW Softball to Face Northern at State Championship
The Mustangs will take on the Lady Patriots, the defending state champs.

Members of C. Milton Wright softball played their way to the state championship Tuesday, beating River Hill, 6-2.
“It was a very very challenging week for a lot of our girls,” Coach Russ Kovach said in a post-game wrap up.
“We had some amazing plays,” he continued, including a “diving catch—that was huge. Some great plays all around.”

Next the Mustangs will take on Northern, which has won the state championship for the past seven years.
The last time C. Milton Wright won the state softball championship was 2006, according to The Baltimore Sun.

“We still have a little bit more to do,” Kovach said. “Let’s take it to ’em next week.”
The 3A state championship between the Mustangs and Lady Patriots will start at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 22, at University of Maryland College Park. Admission is $10 for adults and those 7 years or older.
