Columbia Crime: Liquor Store Assault, ZIPS Holdup
Vacant apartments trashed, shell casings found and more from Howard County police.

The Howard County Police Department provided the following information about recent incidents.
A TV and cash were stolen from a residence in the 8800 block of Roll Right Court sometime between 2 p.m. on June 2 and 8 a.m. on June 4. The suspect(s) got in through an unlocked door.
A liquor store clerk was assaulted after attempting to stop an underage person from stealing a bottle of liquor. At 9:06 p.m. on June 3, police responded to the 6000 block of Foreland Garth, where a clerk had chased an underage person who had run from Richburn Discount Liquors with a bottle of alcohol. The clerk tackled the suspected thief, at which point three other people got out of a vehicle and assaulted the clerk. The employee was taken to the hospital. The suspects got in the vehicle and left. The investigation is ongoing.

Three vacant apartments were burglarized in the 5600 block of Stevens Forest Road. In two, the sliding glass door frame had been pried open on the back patio. In the third, the suspect(s) got in through an unlatched window. Trash and vandalism were left in the wake of the burglary, which occurred sometime between May 7 and June 2.
A Realtor’s lock box was taken from a home in the 6600 block of Allview Drive. In the attempted burglary, reported at 3:53 p.m. on June 1, the doorknob was also broken to the side carport door but suspect(s) did not get inside.

A 2003 Honda Civic ES was stolen from the 5900 block of Turnabout Lane sometime between 10 p.m. on May 31 and 9 a.m. on June 1. It has Maryland tag: ”MD 2BE9033 15-51700.”
ZIPS Dry Cleaners was held up at 7:41 p.m. on May 30. Two men who were armed entered the store in the 10700 block of Little Patuxent Parkway with their faces covered and demanded money from an employee. The employee complied, and the suspects stole the worker’s cell phone before leaving.
Nothing was taken but hardware was tampered with in the 5300 block of Five Fingers Way. The interior garage door of a vacant home had been opened, and the deadbolt displayed signs of tampering. Several damaged door handles and deadbolts were on the floor in front of the back door. The burglary was reported at 11:28 a.m. on May 29.
A man touched a woman inappropriately while she was running on Farewell Road at Big River Run. She was not injured, and the man got away after touching her from behind. Police were unable to locate the man, and the investigation is continuing. The incident was reported at 9:22 a.m. on May 29.
Two shell casings were found in the 9900 block of Guilford Road in Jessup near a party where there were reports of gunfire at 10:43 p.m. on May 30; nobody was injured. Police continue to investigate.
