Columbia Mall Burglar Caught In Shovel Incident: Police
Police said mall security notified authorities about a man with a shovel, leading to charges.

COLUMBIA, MD — A man was arrested after police said he tried to break into two businesses over the weekend at the Mall in Columbia. Uno's Pizzeria and the AMC Theatre were the targets, according to the Howard County Police Department.
Brandon Alan Dailey, 32, of Monterey Court in Joppa, allegedly used a shovel to pry open the doors at the restaurant and movie theater at the mall in the 10300 block of Little Patuxent Parkway.
Security notified police of the situation at 7:45 a.m. on Sunday, June 11, and after officers arrived, Dailey was charged with attempted fourth-degree and fourth-degree burglary.

A hearing is scheduled in Howard County District Court in his case on Aug. 9.
