HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — For the first time since 2019, Concord Point Lighthouse will be open to the public. The opening date is set for National Lighthouse Day, which for 2021 falls on Saturday, Aug. 7.

When the coronavirus pandemic began, the lighthouse was in its off season. Typically it closes from October through April each year.

The last time it opened the interior to the public for tours was in October 2019, according to the Friends of Concord Point Lighthouse, the nonprofit that oversees the stewardship of the historic structure.

"We invite you to come and climb the tower that weekend, and all remaining weekends from August through the end of October."

To celebrate its reopening on Saturday, Aug. 7, the lighthouse will host several activities in the backyard of the Keeper's House:
