Crack The Sky, Plein Air Festival, Bingo: Bel Air This Weekend

A community yard sale, equestrian exhibit opening, plein air kickoff and more events are happening this weekend in Bel Air.

BEL AIR, MD — This weekend in Bel Air there's an equestrian exhibit opening at Harford Community College's Hays-Heighe House, plus the Harford plein air kickoff event at the Liriodendron. A progressive rock concert and the Darlington Apple Festival are also on tap.

“Women of the Turf” Exhibit Opening in the Hays-Heighe House

Friday, October 4 at 5:00 pm

Women of the Turf — an exhibit honoring women in Maryland and beyond who have excelled in all aspects of equestrian sport, including thoroughbred farm owners, trainers, jockeys, and journalists — will open Friday, Oct. 4, from 5-7 p.m. in the Hays-Heighe House at Harford Community College. Women of the Turf Exhibit Opening & Equestrian Award Presentation

Friday, October 4 at 5:00 pm

Presentation of the Robert and Anne Heighe Award for Excellence in Equestrian Journalism will go to photojournalists Cappy Jackson and Lydia Williams. Meet special guest Kathy Kusner, Olympic medalist and first licensed female jockey in the United States, who will offer remarks at the award presentation.

Crack The Sky is a progressive rock band that started in the 1970s.

They have multiple new releases and continue to play to a packed audience.

Saturday, October 5 at 8:00 am

The Colonial Acres Community Yard Sale will take place on Saturday, October 5, beginning at 8am. Enter the neighborhood via East Ring Factory Road or Lexington Road, off 924/Emmorton Road.

Saturday, October 5 at 10 a.m.

The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and includes live music, pie competition and more.

LASOS 11th Annual Mystery Bag Bingo

Saturday, October 5 at 6:30 pm

Join us for a night of Bingo fun at the Bel Air Armory Oct. 6! Tickets on sale $15 in advance $18 at the door (Tickets $17.55 if purchased through eventbrite). Fantastic prizes, food and laughs! Every bag is filled with goodies worth $50 or more from amazing shops like Stella & Dot, Thirty One, local restaurants, and more! Come out and support LASOS as we raise funds to support our literacy programs.

Center for the Arts Plein Air Festival

Sunday, 1:00 pm Bel Air, MD

Admission is free to the Haford Plein Air event, which takes place from Oct. 6 to 12. This kick-off event is at the Liriodendron Mansion, 502 W. Gordon St., Bel Air. Previous paintings will be for sale. Entertainment by the Upper Chesapeake Chorus of the Sweet Adelines International.
