4 Hospitalized from Belair Road Crash, Official Says

A helicopter and several ambulances were called to collision Monday evening.

FALLSTON, MD – A medevac and several ambulances were called to a crash in the area of US 1 at MD 152 Monday night that injured multiple people, officials said.

The intersection of US 1/Belair Road at MD 152/Mountain Road was shut down as a result of the 9:09 p.m. crash, according to Jenn Chenworth, spokeswoman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.

Four people were hospitalized, Chenworth said; three with non-life-threatening injuries were taken to local hospitals, while a fourth was in critical condition at a regional trauma center, according to Chenworth.

While a medevac was summoned, Chenworth said all victims were taken to hospitals by ambulance.

Four medic units were at the scene of the collision, including crews from Fallston, Bel Air and Kingsville, the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company reported.

There were three vehicles involved in the crash, which closed US 1/Belair Road between Reckord and Mountain roads, transportation officials said.

The road would be closed "for an extended time," Chenworth reported before 10 p.m. She said Maryland State Police was investigating the crash.
