2 Hospitalized After Harford County Rollover Crash: Officials

Interstate 95 reopened after a crash Wednesday that caused a closure near MD 543, the Maryland Transportation Authority advised.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Two people were hospitalized as the result of a crash on Interstate 95 in Harford County Wednesday morning, officials reported. The collision resulted in a temporary shutdown of I-95 south.

Before 10:30 a.m., authorities said that two vehicles crashed on I-95 south prior to the exit for MD 543, near near mile marker 80.

At least one person was trapped and had to be rescued from the crash, which involved a rollover, according to the Abingdon Fire Company.

At 10:50 a.m., transportation authorities advised that I-95 was closed for the emergency response, and traffic was detoured from I-95 south to MD 22 to US 40.

Two people were taken to local trauma centers, the Abingdon Fire Company reported.

By 11:15 a.m., traffic was getting through in the center lane; and by 11:30 a.m., the Maryland Transportation Authority reported the crash had cleared.
