Fatal Route 136 Crash Involved Car, Dump Truck: Police

Emergency personnel are handling a serious crash on MD 136 in the area of MD 543.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — One person died in a head-on crash on MD 136 Friday afternoon near the MD 543 intersection, police said. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Around 2:40 p.m., a Ford passenger car crossed over the center line on MD 136/Calvary Road for an unknown reason and hit a Kenworth dump truck, police said, citing to witness accounts.

The driver of the car was pronounced deceased at the scene north of MD 543, officials said.

According to authorities, the dump truck driver was uninjured.

Route 136 was closed after 4 p.m. due to the investigation.

INITIAL REPORT — A crash on MD 543 has closed the road at MD 136 Friday afternoon in Harford County. First responders were at the scene before 3 p.m.
