Dawn Denise Lawson, 48, of Edgewood

Dawn Denise Lawson, age 48, of Edgewood, MD passed away on May 1 at her home. She was born in Aberdeen on Dec. 29, 1966.

A graduate of Joppatowne High School, Denise owned and operated OHD Transportation Services, which provided school bus services to Harford County Public Schools.

She loved her dog Emma, who was by her side until the very end. Denise had a passion and natural ability for interior design, gardening and floral arranging. Her incredible ability was evident throughout her home, as well as in the homes of her family and friends. She had a big heart and always found a way to help those around her who were in need. Anyone who met her would remember her big blue eyes and beautiful smile.

Ms. Lawson is survived by her husband, Paul Boone Jr.; mom and dad, Eva and Dewey Nichols; sisters Kim Russell, Karen Nichols and Tammy Burris; nephews and niece Brandon Russell, Lauren Russell, J.D. Wallace and Justin Burris; uncles Sam Day and Larry Day; as well as cousin Tyler Day.

Visitation will be from 2–4 and 7–9 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, at McComas Funeral Home, 1317 Cokesbury Road, in Abingdon.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 8, at the same location.
