Alleged Abduction Of Delivery Driver In Fallston Probed

Police said that a box truck transporting tobacco products in Harford County was allegedly hijacked.

FALLSTON, MD — The reported kidnapping of a deliveryman in Harford County is under investigation. Police said that the alleged crime happened Tuesday afternoon in Fallston and resulted in the theft of cigarettes from a box truck. There were four masked suspects involved in the armed robbery who left in a black Chevrolet Silverado, officials reported.

A deliveryman told police that he pulled his white box truck into the parking lot of a liquor store in the 2300 block of Belair Road in Fallston before 1 p.m. on Tuesday when three men wearing dark clothing and masks approached.

One suspect pointed a gun at him and forced him into the back of the truck, police said.

The suspects drove to a side street several miles south of the liquor store and stopped to meet a fourth accomplice behind buildings on Old Mountain Road Central, according to police.

"The victim alleged he was ordered to place several boxes of cigarettes into the bed of a black Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck," Maryland State Police said in a statement.

"One of the suspects then gave the delivery truck keys back to the victim and fled the scene," police said. "The victim returned to the liquor store and immediately called police."

Troopers from the Bel Air barrack confirmed there had been a robbery, and crime scene technicians processed the scene for evidence. The victim was uninjured, officials said.
