Dickey's Barbecue Pit Opening in Abingdon
Three days of giveaways will usher in new restaurant.

A new barbecue restaurant is coming to Abingdon, with a former Harford County teacher behind the operation.
For more than 20 years, Mark Buzminsky was a teacher and school administrator within Harford County Public Schools, but he wanted to get into the franchise business and said that Dickey’s Barbecue Pit was right for the area.
“After looking at franchises for the past three years, Dickey’s really stood out to me,” said Buzminsky, who will open a Dickey’s in Abingdon this week.

Dickey’s is a barbecue franchise featuring meats smoked on-site, homestyle side dishes, tangy barbecue sauce and free kids’ meals every Sunday.
“We’re close to military bases and schools, which makes [the] Dickey’s family friendly concept a great fit for our community,” Buzminsky said. Once the Abingdon restaurant is in business, he plans to bring several more Dickey’s Barbecue locations to the area.
