Disc Golf for the Dogs (and cats) at Scarboro Hills
6th Annual Let's Throw for Tyler Together disc golf tournament raises money for the Humane Society of Harford County.
80 disc golf players arrived at Scarboro Hills Disc Golf Course in Street on Saturday morning, not only to participate in the annual doubles tournament, but also to raise money for the Humane Society of Harford County in memory of Tyler Anderson, an avid disc golfer and animal lover who passed away in 2012. When registration for the event opened, the 6th Let's Throw for Tyler Together doubles tournament filled up all available spots in under 4-hours, a record for the event. The threat of rain did not dampen the spirits of the participants, as pairs of players with team names like NASA, One Nation Under Par, Beef & Noodle, and Wasted Potential, took to the course in the friendly but competitive event. The rain held off until after the awards were presented, and the traditional "Ring of Fire" putting contests had begun. Winners of the tournament were, Defending Chumps (Brandon Hauer & Konrad Pawlosky) in the Gold division, John Daly's of Disc Golf (Chris Williams & Tom Atkinson) in the Silver Division, and Tree Love (James Yandow & Jose Barben) in the Bronze division.
The next scheduled events at Scarboro Hills are the MVP Circuit Challenge on July 28th, followed by the 10th Annual Scarboro Scorcher, a Professional Disc Golf Association sanctioned C-tier tournament on August 25th.
