Discarded Cigarette Sparks Deck Fire At Aberdeen Home: State Fire Marshal
A discarded cigarette onto a home's deck sparked a fire that caused $125,000 in damage and loss, and displaced a woman and a child.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — An Aberdeen split-level home caught on fire March 6 shortly after 8:30 p.m.
Located at 1904 Perryman Rd. in Aberdeen, the home sustained a loss and damages of $125,000. More than two dozen Aberdeen Fire Department firefighters battled the blaze that was discovered by a neighbor.
According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office, a discarded cigarette onto the back deck of the home sparked the fire, which was contained mostly to the exterior with some damage occurring to the inside of the home.
