Dog Saved from Joppa Townhouse Blaze: Fire Company
The dog was unconscious when firefighters arrived, officials said.

JOPPA, MD – A dog was rescued from a Joppa townhouse fire Saturday night, according to the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company.
The dog was found unconscious by firefighters who were responding to a call about an odor of smoke at a home in the 900 block of Joppa Farm Road at 10:44 p.m. on Saturday, the fire company reported.
In addition to the dog, crews found an unattended blaze on the stove, according to the report.

Firefighters used an oxygen mask specially designed for dogs to bring the pooch back into consciousness before the animal was released to the care of neighbors, as the residents were not home at the time of the fire, officials said.
