46-Year-Old Driver Killed After Crashing Into Aberdeen Medical Building: Police

A 46-year-old driver has died after Aberdeen Police say he crashed into a medical building along U.S. Route 40/South Philadelphia Boulevard.

ABERDEEN, MD — A man has died after he crashed into a building in the 300 block of U.S. Route 40/South Philadelphia Boulevard.

According to the Aberdeen Police Department, the incident happened Tuesday around 1:15 p.m. The vehicle was heading westbound along U.S. Route 40 when it crossed over into the eastbound lanes of traffic, crossed over a median, swerved back into the westbound travel lanes and hit a medical building shared by Chesapeake Bay Dental and S.A. Bham M.D. Obstetrics and Gynecology.

The 46-year-old driver who has not yet been identified by police was taken by ambulance to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The cause of the collision remains under investigation. U.S. Route 40 westbound at Beards Hill Road Extension was closed for a period of time, according to the police department.
