Drunk Driver Hit And Seriously Injured Aberdeen Officer En Route To Work: Police
An Aberdeen police officer was hit head-on by a drunk driver Sunday while on his way to work, causing serious injuries, officials said.

ABERDEEN, MD — An Aberdeen police officer has been seriously injured after being hit head-on by a drunk driver while commuting to work, police say.
Aberdeen Police Acting Corporal James Haddix was driving to work from his home in Delaware when a suspected impaired driver hit him on the Christiana Parkway Sunday just after 4 a.m. According to the Aberdeen Police Department, the accident "was horrific" and both vehicles were destroyed.
Haddix suffered severe life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Christiana Hospital for care where he remains in serious but stable condition. The police department in Newark, Delaware, has been investigating the incident.
