DUI Checkpoint Is Planned In October: Harford County Sheriff
Deputies will be looking to take impaired drivers off the roads in Harford County.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A sobriety checkpoint is planned in Harford County for mid-October, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.
Aimed at identifying those driving while intoxicated (DUI), the checkpoint is slated for Saturday, Oct. 17. It will take place in the evening, according to the sheriff's office.
The location of the checkpoint was not disclosed.

By law, authorities have to announce the sobriety checkpoint in advance.
In a Supreme Court case about the 4th and 14th Amendments, the court ruled that citizens' rights against unlawful search and seizure are not violated if checkpoints are publicized in advance.
